Oh 2018... what a wonderful year you'll be.  I can just imagine the awesome year that is soon to unfold.  One thing about new years is that you can really focus on improving one aspect of your life.  For me I need to find a gym in Norwalk and get there on a regular basis.  I love going to the local restaurants, but I've realized that I need to shift that focus.

One way that I'm planning on getting in better shape this season is hitting the local attractions with the family.  We're going to definitely head on over to the Maritime Aquarium, but I've also heard great things about the Switch Tower Museum and the Oak Hill Park.  Although I might have to skip this year's clam festival.  

What's your new year's resolution?

I know that most people I talk to are all about not having a resolution.  This always seemed odd to me.  Most people in business have a goal they'd like to hit in 2018 so why don't people have a personal goal they'd like to achieve as well.  I know that I'd like to hire a couple new employees within the new year.

Anyways, it's getting late.  I've got a full book of appointments tomorrow so I'll have to get some shut eye.  Think about what your resolution could be and write something down.  Motivation will surely come following the ball drop!

Let's face it - Norwalk is a city unlike any other.  Many people rave about the different cities in Connecticut from Stamford to Danbury, but no other city can compare to Norwalk.  There are so many different things to do in Norwalk that you could be busy for days just trying to explore new activities within the city walls. 

Norwalk is great for older people as well as the younger crowd.  We all know that the young kids flock to SoNo for it's strip of bars and stellar nightlife.  However, the older folks have a nice little town center of our own named Rowayton.  There are no crazy bars in Rowayton like in SoNo and it's located right on the beach which makes it perfect for a nice stroll along the shoreline.

You really just can't beat Norwalk.  We've got the best Aquarium in Connecticut to top the list!  Sure, some people just love Mystic Aquarium, but more people from the gold coast won't drive that far east. 

Name another city nearby that has a change of getting into the mix with our great city!

Greenwich... nope!
Darien... nope!  (Darien is just a small town)
Stamford... close but no cigar.
Ridgefield...  sorry, but it's just an overly hilly country town next to Danbury. 

Like I said in the beginning there is no other city in Fairfield County that can rival Norwalk!

Another step to solving the problem is to check the motor, listen for a hum while the dishwasher is running. If there is a hum than this means the motor is receiving power but it is not turning. The motor may need to be replaced in this case.

Cleaning out the filter or checking the valves, motor, pump, belts, and the drain line to make sure those are all accurately working will help you find the cause as well. Any of those may need to be tightened, cleaned or worn and may need to be replaced. Always cleaning the filter, hoses and strainer could help prevent the dishwasher from not draining or prevent other damage.

Asko is a brand that is very supportive with conserving energy and have earned the Energy Star label for all their built-in dishwashers. Frigidaire is owned by Electrolux and you can find this brand mostly in big box stores like Home Depot and Best Buy. They are usually around the price range of about $300 to $1,000.  Finally the last well-known brand for Dishwashers is Maytag. Maytag is known for the most powerful motor and also offers one of the best warranties you can find on dishwashers and it is a 10- year limited parts warranty. Dishwashers have many common causes of why they need to be fixed or replaced. Unfortunately dishwashers can become very noisy and can become frustrating. Some noises can be as little as simple rattle to a loud clanking noise. There may be a defective pump; the wash arm seal or bearing ring may need to be replaced.

Another problem that could be the root of the noise is that the spray arms aren’t turning properly because they might be knocking into the racks or dishes when they are turning. An issue that may come about is that the dishwasher door wont latch correcting. This may be the result of some wear and tear on the door catch or the electronic control.

Some other steps would be to make sure the dishwasher is leveled, dishwasher door may not close properly, or it could be as simple as using regular dish soap when you aren’t using detergents.
