My Day in Norwalk, Connecticut
From seals to mini-golf the city of Norwalk has a lot to do. Here is what I do would with my day in Norwalk. Starting off at Penny’s Diner a local established traditional diner where customers have the opportunity to eat a wide range of classic American diner food. Going to Penny’s diner with friends brings out the atmosphere Norwalk gives to its growing city. After a hearty filed breakfast of a hungry man special and passing the time chatting with the friendly residents, we will drive down the road to the Maritime Aquarium.
Exploring and learn about the Long Island Sound, see a movie in the IMAX theatre, and watch one of the harbor seal shown throughout the day. When I am with family its amazing to see the youthful wonder of our children watching sharks, jelly fish, and other beautiful fish swim by. The Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk is not only for young children, but for adults a well - it’s entertainment that the whole family can enjoy. After spending the rest of the morning in the aquarium, we are probably ready to get outside and have some more fun.
Driving across town to the Calf Pasture Beach where our family can swim in the Long Island Sound and play mini golf at the beach. Once we have taken a dip in the Sound, it's just a simple walk over to Norwalk Sailing School located on the property adjacent to Calf Pasture Beach. Here one has the opportunity to learn to sail at one of Connecticut’s most premiere boating schools. In no time at all you’ll learn navigation skills, knot tying, “the rules of the road” and you’ll be out on the Sound having a great time. Feeling the salt air of sailing brings you back to simpler time, why not explore the past in the historical district and park. I have a passion for history and things of old and my favorite place to indulge is the historical printing museum.
When I am with the guys we will head to one of the local breweries for a handmade micro-brew or small batch then head to the inn. After checking in at the Norwalk Inn & Conference Center, I then head back on down to the shore line for a lovely high-end dinner with my beautiful wife at Harbor Lights, Norwalk’s Mediterranean-inspired seafood restaurant. If our stomachs are up to it we head out to South Norwalk for some fun dancing, singing, and mechanical bull riding. Norwalk’s day-life and night-life is never dull, there is always something to do in the Oyster Town.
